Ecuador's official language is Spanish, but Quichua, an Inca language, is spoken by the Indian population. Besides Spanish, ten native languages are spoken in Ecuador. English is the most spoken foreign language amongst tourist providers and professionals.

English proficiency is increasingly necessary for business and international communication and, in that regard, linked with prospects for economic competitiveness and growth in the global economy. Interest in learning the language continues to grow throughout Latin America. 

Nowadays, is important for Ecuadorian students to learn and know how to speak English, we should know the most common language of the world, is English. It´s essential to teach the future generation a variety of languages that could help us in the future.

It depends on how ecuadorians use English, most of the time at work. In companies, they usually are looking for young people who practice everyday English, at leat, if their curriculum says a 60% knowledge of english you are hired. Or in schools, it depends on which school are you in, because in some of them, they do not teach very well English just the basic things
